Capital Campaign
Serving God In This Place: This was the theme of our capital campaign which we undertook in the fall of 2008.
In recent years, it became increasingly evident that renovations were needed to maintain the safety and preserve the beauty of Trinity Memorial Church so that we, and those who follow, could continue to serve God in this place. Through a thoughtful and long-term study, we identified just over $1 million in capital projects necessary to maintain our church buildings as we face the future together.
Raising the bulk of these funds--$725,000--was the goal of the capital campaign. That would pay for the replacement of the roof and repair of the stonework of the church itself, the physical heart of our parish.
The remainder of the necessary projects, totaling $340,000 (refurbishing the interior of the church, upgrading our electric service and lighting fixtures, and repairing the Parish House and Trinity House roofs) will be funded through a combination of undesignated bequests--most notably a portion of Miss Frances Jenning's gift--and existing reserve funds.
So, in the best tradition of Trinity Memorial Church, we will be combining forces--the generosity of our past members, the careful stewardship of our endowment, and the open-hearted commitment of the present members of our parish--as we address our building needs.
