We at Trinity,
Committed to Ministry,
Serve God and Neighbor
Our operating budget is how we resource our day to day walking in his footsteps; it is the way we live as we pray "thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This includes such varied actions as
- inspiring worship, enhanced by organ, choirs, and chimes that sends us out into our individual day to day environment
- providing an education program, especially for the youngest among us
- providing pastoral support through home and hospital visitations as well as time for coffee, tea, and conversation each Sunday
- providing sacramental nourishment for our heart of hearts in the Eucharist, as well as through baptisms, weddings, and funerals
- providing people in recovery a safe place to find their way
- providing Saturday and Sunday bag suppers and a Sunday hot meal at noon, food-only gift cards, food for our area CHOW pantries, and occasional rent assistance, and gas money for those in need
- hosting organizations and events that include the Binghamton University Harpur Chorale concerts, Madrigal Choir concerts, monthly contra dances,
- mentoring for high school youth in the HAVEN after school drop-in center
- use of our church facilities by a quilt club, Eastern Star, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and twenty other groups.
We are all created to serve beyond our own self-interests, and to join with others in service. Trinity Memorial provides many healthy opportunities to serve.
Jesus said, "The first commandment is this: Hear, 0 Israel : The Lord our God is the only Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."
(From the Gospel according to St. Mark 12:29-31)
Our need is also great to fund the day to day life of our parish so that we can expand our commitment to our Mission Statement:
"In response to Christ's call to go into the world, we commit ourselves to nourish and strengthen our faith, to serve Christ, and through our actions, inspire others."
