Pursuing Our Dreams
The people who founded Trinity Memorial Church 125 years ago had dreams. They dreamed that the Episcopal Church would build a community of Christians on the West Side of Binghamton to spread the good news of Jesus Christ and to reach out to those in need. They backed up their dreams with their own time, talent and treasure and we have been blessed with that legacy.
The people of Trinity Memorial have continued to dream through the years, and they have pursued those dreams and turned them into realities:
- Our outreach ministries have fed the hungry, nurtured teens, helped those in need, and provided meeting places for others in our community.
- Our worship and music have inspired us.
- Our education and formation programs—our Sunday School and Sunday Forums, our Vacation Bible School and Choir Camp—have helped us grow spiritually.
- Our times together—our Trinity Lunchers and 8 o’clock breakfasters, our Second Sunday Suppers and Parish Fun Nights—have united us in fellowship and in caring for each other.
- Our commitment to maintaining our buildings and serving God in this place—for another 125 years!—is strong and unmistakable.
We can NOT stop dreaming now. We can not discontinue turning those dreams into realities. These are difficult economic times. There is need in our parish and in our community.
There are people who need to hear the Good News. There are lives to be transformed.
What are your dreams for Trinity Memorial Church?
What are our next steps in ministry and outreach?
Whatever they are, they will not be realized without our commitment of time, talent and treasure.
Would you prayerfully consider increasing your financial contribution to Trinity Memorial by 5%, or even 10% in 2012? Would you consider increasing your commitment of time and talent in carrying out our ministries?
Jesus said, “Where your heart is, there will your treasure be also.”
We ask you to reflect on where your heart is, and how well your pledge reflects that.
It is also true that where your treasure is, your heart will be also.
