Ministry of Facilities
We believe it is an important part of our ministry to make space available in our facility, at low or no cost, to community organizations that serve the people of Broome County. We provide heat, light and custodial services as part of this ministry.
Groups meeting in our buildings include:
Bone Savers-Osteoporosis Prevention
Bonesaver Fitness class to prevent or decrease osteoporosis and improve balance. Meets weekly throughout the year.
Broome County Board of Elections
Trinity Church is a polling place for primary and general elections.
Canteen Lunch Program
A
hot meal is provided on Sundays at noon to 70-90 people each week, and they are also given a bagged lunch meal. On Saturdays 60 bagged lunches are distributed to the needy. Trinity Church prepares the meal once or twice a month; various other churches and community groups also provide meals.
Community Dance
Binghamton Community Dance is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization which offers contradances, English country dance and Scottish dance as participatory dances, open to the public, throughout the year. A typical evening of contradance attracts 50-70 dancers of all ages representing a cross-section of the community. Dance events are fun, smoke-free, and alcohol-free. The group meets once a month at Trinity.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, political awareness and involvement.

Support for those dealing with Hepatitis C.
Cornell Cooperative Extension Nutrition
Classes
Nutrition education and hands on training for women doing grocery shopping.
Five week sessions are held several times per year.
Eastern Star Sheba Chapter #3
The Order of the Eastern Star is a Masonic-related fraternity of women and men dedicated to charity, truth and loving kindness. Although not a part of the Masonic fraternity, membership is based on a Masonic affiliation or relationship, a belief in God, and a desire to acquire additional knowledge and for self improvement. Meetings are twice monthly.
The Family and Children’s Society
The Family & Children's Society is a leading community provider of human services. Their goal is to help people improve the quality of their lives. The agency is committed to renewing hope for those who face challenges due to troubling circumstances. This commitment translates into assistance, care and counseling that serve to strengthen and support individuals and healthy relationships.
Occasional workshops are held at Trinity.
First Night of Binghamton
On December 31st annually, Trinity hosts the Labyrinth in the gym and two concerts in the nave to participate in Binghamton’s family oriented, alcohol free New Year’s Eve celebration.
Friends Dinner
A hot meal is provided each Tuesday evening for those affected by HIV-AIDS.
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts is a premier voice for girls and a leading expert on their growth and development. The organization builds girls of confidence, courage and character who make the world a better place. Trinity’s Girl Scouts often serve at the Canteen on Sundays.
HAVEN After School Program
The mission of the HAVEN is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for youth in grades 9-12. This unique after school program--established in partnership with parents, schools, community, business and government-- benefits high school students by empowering them to achieve health and growth. The HAVEN is open to youth in grades 9-12 who are attending school. The program is free of charge to participants and their families. The HAVEN program is held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:35 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the school year.
Helping Hands Clothes Closet
Helping Hands Women's Clothes Closet Offers professional women's clothing for job interviews and employment. Also helps women in need of clothing for church, etc. The Helping Hands Clothes Closet will accept clean, gently-used clothing in season.
The HIV Care Network of Central New York
The Central New York HIV Care Network coordinates the efforts of service and program resources, community support organizations, volunteers, and persons infected or affected by HIV/AIDS in a 14-county region. The Network brings together resources specifically targeting HIV/AIDS, as well as other resources with broader missions that have recognized the impact of HIV/AIDS in their work.
Network members are committed to identifying service and prevention needs; promoting collaborative efforts to establish and strengthen resources in the community; improving timely access to high quality and culturally-appropriate services; collecting and distributing information about the AIDS epidemic; and advocating for public policy and funding support for HIV/AIDS programs and services.
HIV Support Group
The Group meets weekly to support one another as they deal with HIV related issues.
The Madrigal Choir
Begun in 1978, The Madrigal Choir of Binghamton is a not-for-profit ensemble dedicated to the art of a cappella choral performance. Under the leadership of founding director, Anne Boyer Cotten, they perform sacred and secular works drawn from the medieval period to the present in concerts throughout upstate New York. The Choir uses Trinity for occasional concerts and practices.
Red Cross Shelter
The Red Cross may call upon the use of Trinity Memorial Church in case of a disaster.
Samaritan Counseling Center
The Samaritan Counseling Center was established in 1983 as a not-for-profit organization. The mission of Samaritan Counseling Center is to empower the whole person using a spiritually sensitive approach to counseling, consultation and education.
Society for Creative Anachronisms
The Society for Creative Anachronisms is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.” The SCA has an annual event at Trinity in January.
Southern Tier AIDS Program
The Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP) provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the Southern Tier of New York. Founded in 1984 as a local response to the HIV epidemic, Southern Tier AIDS Program provides effective and innovative HIV and Hepatitis C prevention education and outreach services to individuals and communities and comprehensive and caring services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Serving eight counties from nine office locations, all services are free and confidential. STAP has their regional holiday dinner at Trinity and occasional organizational meetings.
Southern Tier Music Teachers Association
Southern Tier Music Teachers Association's (STMTA) mission is to encourage both music students and music teachers to participate in the musical life of this community. Toward this goal, the Association provides a variety of performance and learning opportunities each year. Trinity has been used as a workshop and performance site.
Stepping Stone Quilt Club
Quilters gather bi-weekly year round for a Monday morning of quilting. They do projects that are individual, group and charitable.
Su Casa Narcotics Anonymous 12-Step Program
"NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We ... meet regularly to help each other stay clean. ... We are not interested in what or how much you used ... but only in what you want to do about your problem and how we can help." Su Casa is a bi-lingual English/Spanish chapter that meets weekly at Trinity on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.
