Organ Enhancement Update
Following our organist and choir director Tim Smith’s well attended Trinity Forum on June 11th, where he described and demonstrated the many changes to be undertaken through the proposal, the Vestry at its meeting on June 12th unanimously approved the proposal, authorizing a maximum of $40k funding from the Wilma Hoyt Fund and $7k funding from the Organ Fund. It did so in the expectation that the Music Program Committee will be soliciting gifts from the congregation to support the project.
With these approvals in hand, the work on the chancel has begun in earnest, both on the choir pews and in the reconfiguration of the dais to provide wider more gradual steps from the sanctuary up to the chancel. This work will not affect our Sunday services in any significant way and should be complete by the end of the summer.
We will also be providing a comprehensive report on the work, with photos, in the August issue of the Trinity
