Building Transformations at Trinity
New Music Rehearsal Room and Music Library
We have some exciting news to share on transformations in our Trinity House: we’ve been busy transforming former classrooms into a new Music Rehearsal Room and a Music Library Room.
The North Atrium will offer a large rehearsal space which will be used by the Summer Savoyards and the Madrigal Choir of Binghamton. Our Trinity Choir and Bell Choir will continue using the present Choir room for their rehearsals.
The South Atrium will serve as the music library for the Trinity and Madrigal Choirs with a comfortable work space for assembling music and binders. A relaxing sitting area for meetings will be on the other half of the room.
Both Atriums have been painted and look clean and bright. Thank you to Rob Lacey, Tom Harding, Frank Donohue and Gary Muehlbauer for helping with the painting. Bruce Borton and Tim Smith have helped tremendously with the overall concept.
We are happy to offer these rooms to performing arts groups in our community, extending our own music ministry in the process. Both the Madrigal Choir of Binghamton and the Summer Savoyards appreciate our support of their mission, which also adds another opportunity for outreach for us.
These rooms can also be used by additional groups, upon request. It is exciting to see the transformation of this once unused, cluttered space into a wonderful free and open concept rehearsal space that will be utilized by many people every week.
Complementing the new rehearsal space, we are pleased to be able to announce that Trinity Memorial has been awarded a grant from the Hoyt Foundation for $8,600 to install a Chair Lift in Trinity House. The lift will run from the Trinity House door to the second floor of Trinity House, which is now dedicated to music and performance rehearsals. The chair lift will make the floor accessible to any member of (currently) the Trinity Choir, Trinity Ringers, Madrigal Choir of Binghamton, or Summer Savoyards benefitting from extra support navigating the stairs. This lift will be installed by mid to late August. We thank the Hoyt Foundation for their guidance through the application process, and their generous support of our ministries and outreach. Thank you also to Chris Brown who helped provide all the financial information required to complete the grant application.
