The Trinity Forums Committee will present a three-part series during the month of November entitled “Navigating the Medical System.” The series’ focus will be on how individuals and their families cope with the medical system in all its complexity when faced with a serious illness.
On November 4, the Rev. Lea Harding, will draw on her long pastoral experience to discuss issues related to assisted living and nursing homes. Her talk is titled Navigating the Sandwich Generation.
On November 11, long-time Binghamton physician, Dr. Mark Epstein, will discuss, from the perspective of a primary care physician, how one deals with the system in the wake of bad medical news.
Finally, on November 18, Jim Tallon, the former state assemblyman who subsequently led the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured and the United Hospital Fund of
New York, will address broad issues related to our medical system.
The Trinity Forum meets most Sundays at 11:30 am in the Common Room; presentations and discussions typically last an hour. Please watch the Trinity Times, the Sunday Bulletin insert, or the Trinity Memorial Website at www.trinitymemorial.org for specific meeting dates and information.
