A Stewardship Update

Tell me if you’ve heard this before: there are so many ways to express our dependence on each other; we recognize that we are not solitary creatures, going as far back as Genesis Chapter 2, which says “it is not good for human to be alone.” We human beings need one another, we are called to be in community with one another. The problem is we keep messing it up. Continuing in Genesis, we would find the story of Cain and Abel, telling us that hard-heartedness and selfishness have also been part of human nature from earliest beginnings. Yet, we also know that God in His mercy is always ready to call us into a new life of the Spirit, rather than the self, allowing us to let ourselves be transformed by gratitude for His call! Will we allow ourselves to live a new life in this gratitude, sharing our time, talent, and treasure? Are you ready to follow God’s call to actively participate in the ministries of our church? How about helping at Canteen, or joining the Altar Guild?

And yes, of course you’ve heard this before! I have picked just a very few of the insights Fr. Glenn shared with us in his memorable sermon of October 7.

We - all of us - are deeply grateful for the outpouring of commitments to Trinity Memorial’s ministries and services, through active participation, and offered in the form of pledges of financial support: as of November 23, 2018, you have offered a very generous total of $180,298. We still have a little way to go to meet our goal, so if you haven’t remembered to offer your pledge yet, please do so!
