Our Sunday School Year in Review

May 19th finished the Sunday School year for Trinity Memorial.  We had a celebration of the children as well as their activities and lessons (on display) for the year during coffee hour in the Hoyt Room; rainbow cupcakes, drinks, ‘goody bags’, and balloons abound!   ‘Rainbow’ has been the theme this year with emphasis on kindness and love for one another. We celebrated several saint’s holidays and church holidays for each church season.

A very special thank you to Naomi Mahaffey for preparing many ‘lessons in a bag’ and decorating the Hoyt Room with the rainbow theme.   She has been a real asset and quietly supports our Children’s Church efforts. Also, thanks to Sidney Dement who provided music via guitar and helped direct the program; Deena Dement, Debbie Parmelee, Nicole Huff, Jan Muehlbauer, Gale Bump and family – all assisting in ‘crowd control’ and helping the younger children with their craft activities.  Martha Bennett was our music consultant and Barb Manzo was our ‘signing’ consultant. I apologize if I left anyone out.

It has been a challenge to fit a lesson, prayer, snack, and activity into the 20 minutes between Sermon and The Peace! Coordinating lessons to fit youth from age 3 to 14 has also been challenging. The key is making the Sunday school experience a fun and loving time.  The older and younger children have become very attentive to each other – a real family environment! We all value, respect, and care for each other as a church community. Attendance ranges from 3 to 14.

We look forward to Fall as we plan next year’s Church School time. Happy Summer! Thank you to all the families who made each Sunday a priority for their kids!
