Giving

Giving of oneself  comes in many forms: principally, we encourage giving of time, talent, and treasure.

Our congregation could not do the Lord's work in this world, without generous donations of all three.

Some parishioners offer of their time - you will find them engaged in leadership positions, serve in ministries;

some offer of their talent - you will find them in leadership positions, ministries and services;

most offer of their treasure.

Giving

We at Trinity,
Committed to Ministry,
Serve God and Neighbor

Our congregation builds on the generosity of parishioners who came long before us, and those with us, today.

Our parishioners contribute of their talent and skills, of their time, and of their treasure.

Our operating budget supports our day to day walking in His footsteps; it is the way we live as we pray "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This includes such varied actions as

  • inspiring worship, enhanced by organ, choir, and chimes that sends us out into our individual day to day environment

  • providing an education program, especially for the youngest among us

  • providing pastoral support through home and hospital visitations as well as time for coffee, tea, and conversation each Sunday

  • providing sacramental nourishment for our heart of hearts in the Eucharist, as well as through baptisms, weddings, and funerals

  • providing people in recovery a safe place to find their way

  • providing Sunday bag suppers and a Sunday hot meal at noon, food-only gift cards, food for our area CHOW pantries, and occasional rent assistance, and gas money for those in need

  • hosting organizations and events that include the Binghamton University Harpur Chorale concerts, Madrigal Choir concerts, monthly contra dances,

  • use of our church facilities by quilt club, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and almost thirty other community groups.

 Help

We are all created to serve beyond our own self-interests, and to join with others in service. Trinity Memorial provides many healthy opportunities to serve.

Jesus said, "The first commandment is this: Hear, 0 Israel : The Lord our God is the only Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."

(From the Gospel according to St. Mark 12:29-31)

We welcome contributions and offerings  of talent, time and treasure to support our day-to-day activities, and expand our commitment, as reflected in our Mission Statement: "To serve Christ passionately through self, family, parish and community."
